Seawater Desalination

|   Application

Seawater desalination is the production of potable water for households and society as well as process water for industrial or power plant facilities from salty seawater by removing the salt and other minerals from the water. According to the United Nations University – Institute for Water, Environment and Health an incredible amount of 95 million cubic meters (which equals 95 billion liters respectively 25 billion gallons) is produced every day!

Clean water is also required for the production of green hydrogen by electrolysis. Since hydrogen is expected to play an important role in the future energy supply chain, demand is likely to increase even further in the near future.

The resistance against corrosion and solids in combination with a superior high flow capacity and excellent control make VETEC rotary plug valves the right choice for process quality and total cost of ownership (TCO).

Hundreds of VETEC valves around the world already guarantee the supply of potable water to households, society and industry.
