Here the VETEC rotary plug valve design has several advantages. The plug swings completely out of the flow, and the split shaft design further reduces the area of contact for erosion. In contrast to a classic globe valve, the body does not have multiple angles in the flow channel, which greatly simplifies cladding and again reduces the erosion contact area.
