Handling of Highly Adhesive Media

|   Application

Adhesive media is usually uncritical with regard to erosion. However, build-up and adhesion of the media can significantly affect the performance of valves. Especially in the areas of the sealing edge or the bearing this often lead to unacceptable leakage or to a different control behavior.

The double eccentric design of VETEC rotary plug valves minimizes the risk of media built-up on the sealing edge. Everything is flushed away by the high flow velocities immediately before the plug touches the seat. Unlike other valve designs, no accumulation of media between the seat and plug can lead to increased friction coefficients during the process.

However, some applications require additional effort. Here, VETEC a variety of additional options to handle even the stickiest media. Flushing inside of the body, either behind the plug or around the shaft respectively the trunnion bearing, is one of these.

In special cases, customer-specific adaptation is required, as shown in the application below. Prior in-house testing enabled reliable proof of operational safety without time-consuming and cost-intensive tests in the real process and guarantees maximum reliability and availability of the process.
